About Better Life

The full trading name of Better Life is "Better Life For All Limited". The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of KJR Synergy Ltd and gains its financial strength from that organisation.

Better Life has been brought into being by Kevin Oliver. Kevin is the sole shareholder of KJR Synergy Ltd and hence is putting his own money behind the Better Life project for many reasons relating to his real life experiences and beliefs about the society in which we live. Below are some of the beliefs held by everyone at Better Life.

Health

The NHS is in crisis and we believe it cannot survive in its current form. It does not matter which political party is in power as there are too many structural problems within the service. The primary problem is that "illness" is increasing at an alarming rate and hence those good people working within the service spend all of their time fire fighting, treating the ill. There are also too many with vested interests who will oppose change.

At Better Life we are taking positive action to do what we can to show that changing to a focus of keeping people healthy, is the only way forward. We hope that in time we will make a real difference and gain the endorsement of the NHS and government.

Regulation and Legislation

As a nation we are overburdened with regulation and legislation. In all areas of life there is more and more, ill thought through regulation providing jobs for the mandarins in Whitehall. Every regulator or legislator, whose life is taken up administering unnecessarily complicated rules, is a wasted resource and reduces our ability to compete on a world stage. Poorly constructed regulation or legislation also creates anti-government sentiment, which cannot be good for society.

At Better Life, we have developed strategies to help people overcome some of the problems created by unjust or ill conceived legislation or regulation. This will relieve stress and help the health of those concerned.

Litigation and Compensation

Sadly we becoming more litigious and focused on compensation as a society. The opportunity for litigation and compensation is often created by poor regulation and legislation. Every claim for compensation results in people, the courts and money being directed in non-productive areas. So if we can take action to reduce the amount of litigation and compensation, then society will be all the better for it.

At Better Life we have developed a team approach when dealing with client issues which creates improved protection for all involved. Enhanced protection leads to more peace of mind, which leads to less stress which leads to better health.

Money

The problem with money is that today we need so much more of it. We are under constant pressure to consume more and more as a society. Peer group pressure is huge on our children and an ageing population is changing the cost of living dramatically. An example of this is a pension. In order to buy a pension of £10,000 twenty years ago, you would have to spend about £70,000. Now to produce the same figure would cost nearer £200,000. It is said that 40% of people visiting their doctor are suffering from stress related to money.

At Better Life we believe that an integrated team approach applied to money issues can produce huge benefits which can go some way to offsetting the monetary problems we face. It goes without saying that relieving monetary stress will lead to a Better Life.

Environment

We all have a vested interest in looking after the planet on which we live. The problems we face in doing so are however vast. We demand warm properties with hot and cold running water, a car has become essential to our way of life, and convenience is at the heart of much of what we do. The problem with delivery is that there are many very strong organisations with a vested interest in selling us more gas, electricity, water, petrol, cigarettes and convenience products.

At Better Life, we want to do our bit to help our planet. We hold aspirations of supporting the manufacture and distribution of products that clearly help the environment. We want to educate through our health teams and analysts, to show how people can make a huge difference working together.

Charity

It is a strongly held belief within Better Life, that the best way to re-distribute wealth is through charitable means and here we do have a choice. Our choice is to give 50% of all of our profits to charity. Those charitable donations are tax deductible and hence we will only be taxed on 50% of our profits. The effect of this will be that the amount of money channelled through a hugely wasteful government machine is reduced and we are in control of where our donations are placed. This way we can ensure the money is used effectively and not wasted on administrative processes.

If tax were payable on our profits at a rate of 30%, then in normal circumstances we would retain 70% to underpin the future of the company. By taking our stance of giving 50% of our profits to charity, we will only maintain 35% to underpin the future of the company, but we will be able to do so much more for you through charity.
